A massive glacier burst in Chamoli district, about 300 km east of Dehradun triggering a massive avalanche and a flash flood which damaged a dam on Rishi Ganga river on Sunday morning.

According to press sources, there has been a break in Joshimath Tapoban due to the breaking of the glacier.
It is being told that the floods are so severe that people living along the banks of Karnprayag, Rudraprayag and Srinagar are being warned.
Extensive damage and devastation is expected at several villages.
